GRACE is Giving & Receiving Assistance for our Community's Essentials.
GRACE meets community needs with community resources to enable the good health and success of our vulnerable and underserved neighbors.
GRACE distributes more than 16,000 pounds of food and supplies (including fresh produce, choice table products, milk, eggs/protein, bread, toilet tissue) to Summit families each week.
Our weekly food distribution hit an all-time high at the start of 2023. While we had enough supplies on hand to serve every member of our community who came in need, many of our neighbors are still unable to out-work inflation and our operating costs remain high. Please consider the many ways you can support GRACE.
What We Do
The GRACE community serves families facing financial and food insecurity, in a time of economic uncertainty. Many of our families struggle to outwork inflation and face many challenges to gaining stability. We aim to support them in becoming happy, healthy and secure. #happyhealthysecure
WEEKLY FOOD DISTRIBUTION
We distribute fresh food and essential supplies every Thursday in Summit, NJ, along with providing direct access to stabilizing services.
While we are most known for our weekly fresh food distribution, our community understands that we offer so much more. We aim to provide culturally relevant access to the services needed, and rise to action when we see a new need. From providing access to legal support for tenant rights, sport & fitness clinics for wellness, access to SNAP-Ed benefits and Charity Care, support in obtaining photo ID, on-site covid & flu vaccines, free dental cleanings and literacy support, and career development support, we make sure that our community resources are accessible to all.

GRACE is a nonprofit that is volunteer run and donor funded. We rely on the generous support and contributions of our community to serve our neighbors most in need. Many hands make light work and GRACE need YOUR help to assist families in need in our community. There are many opportunities for you to help. Thursday mornings we unload the truck from the Community Food Bank, bag produce, and prepare for distribution. We need several volunteers to drive their vehicles to addresses in Summit to deliver groceries to people who can't make it to distribution. Distribution (handing out groceries to people in the community who come to GRACE) is on Thursdays. There are also opportunities to pick up bread and bagel donations, and collect donations during the week. Please review the available opportunities and sign up, or reach out to let us know how you'd like to share your talents. Consider volunteering with your colleagues, friends, family or neighbors.
