Re-Supply and Afternoon Distribution (3pm-5pm)

Description

Weekly Distribution

Every Thursday Volunteers work from 11am-1pm, 3pm-5pm, and 5pm-7pm to support distribution.

Weekly Food Distribution is at the Summit Community Center at 100 Morris Ave, Summit, NJ.

The highlight program of GRACE is Thursday Distribution, when we distribute food and supplies and provide community programming and support services.

Parking is available on the side street and in the lot, and the building is wheelchair accessible. If driving to your volunteer shift, we ask volunteers and staff to please consider parking behind the Oaks Center at 20 Ashwood Ave, and use the marked crosswalks, to help support traffic flow during distribution hours. There is plentiful parking for anyone who needs a closer accessible space. Volunteers will be working both inside and outside, and should dress appropriately for any weather. Closed toe shoes and comfortable clothes for moving, lifting and working are recommended.

Volunteers ages 8-12 are welcome with accompanying adult supervision. If a youth is joining you for volunteering, please add the youth(s) name(s) and age(s) in the comments when you register for your time slot, or send a message to operations@gracegivingreceiving.org.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING THE GRACE COMMUNITY!

Many hands make light work and GRACE needs YOUR help to assist families in need in our community. There are many opportunities for you to help. Thursday mornings we unload the truck from the Community Food Bank, bag produce, and prepare for distribution. We need several volunteers to drive their vehicles to addresses in Summit to deliver groceries to people who can't make it to distribution. Distribution (handing out groceries to people in the community who come to GRACE) is on Thursdays. There are also opportunities to pick up bread and bagel donations, and collect donations during the week. Please review the available opportunities and sign up, or reach out to let us know how you'd like to share your talents. Consider volunteering with your colleagues, friends, family or neighbors. Please reach out to us if you have questions about accessibility, accommodations and/or additional opportunities for younger children. Thank you!

GRACE is located at The Summit Community Center, 100 Morris Avenue in Summit.

If you have questions about a sign up please email Suzanne Wagner at operations@gracegivingreceiving.org.
